Our association has meetings by Zoom twice a year, an occasion to update everyone on news, to field questions and to encourage future efforts to make Clarence’s legacy apparent to a wide audience. We have pleasure in publishing here our notes on the meeting of 20 January 2026 for your interest. Download the notes in pdf here: Clarence_Bicknell_Zoom_call_notes_20Jan 2026
Highlights:
Exhibition at the Wren Library, Trinity College, Cambridge. Nick Bell from the Wren Library has contacted Marcus asking if Clarence Bicknell material could be lent to a botanical art exhibition being organised by art students from 22 February for a week. The exhibits will be similar to those in the 2018 exhibition there including two original vellum-bound albums (photo of Marcus Bicknell and Nick Bell in 2018 above).
Clarence Bicknell might be the subject of a week-long evenings exhibition and seminar series in May 2026 attached to the Cookham Festival on the Thames near where Susie and I live.
Le Venezie Watercolor Festival would like to display some of the water-colours of Alpine flowers by Clarence Bicknell at their next exhibition 17 October – 1 November 2026 in the historical medieval City Palace Palazzo dei Trecento in Treviso. I will work hard to make sure we can take up this opportunity and provide them what they need. I plan to meet Giandomenico Padovan and his Chinese sponsor in London in May.
