The idea of the 2024 exhibition gives me the opportunity to root out creations by Clarence which have been lying in bottom drawers for 100 years. One of the them is a hand painted set of playing cards; the families for Happy Families are of course species of mountain flowers, photo right.
The owner, my cousin Caroline Messenger, would loan them for the exhibition. They have never been seen, not even by me.
